Since each frame is unique, based on your lifestyle and needs, it is important for us to be involved with the
planning as early as possible. We offer complete design services including computerized isometric views and
engineering is available. We will meet with you and discuss your ideas about floorplans, space needed, room
arrangements and budget. If you have plans, we can usually design a frame that will work without changing the
look or feel of what you want.
Once the plans are complete, our joiners will start cutting the frame. Every timber is carefully selected for
it's place in the frame, then it is layed out and roughed in with mortise machines, then chisled and slicked
to exacting tolerances. We typically use planed oak timbers. For added strength we generally use fully housed
or shouldered mortise and tenon joinery. Once a section of a frame has been test fitted, it is then carefully
embellished with decorative edges, curved knee braces, and carvings. Then each timber is sanded, given one
coat of Land Ark interior oil and end sealed before being stored until it is delivered and erected by the same
Woodhenge joiners that built the frame.
